De Watergroep, the largest water supply utility of Flanders (Belgium), starts a pilot project with LeakRedux® to fundamentally reduce their actual non-revenue water level of 20 %.
De Watergroep supplies water through a network of over 32,000 km to 180 municipalities in Flanders (Belgium) and serve around 3 million customers and hundreds of companies. Their mission is to supply high-quality drinking water at an affordable price and ensure economically and ecologically responsible management. To attain this, one of their goals is to reduce their actual non-revenue water of 20% by proactively search for leaks by using advanced data-analysis techniques. De Watergroep now starts applying Hydroscan’s LeakRedux® solution.
The water supply network of De Watergroep is managed through 282 permanently monitored DMAs. Currently, De Watergroep is using night flows to target priorities for active leakage control interventions.
The project is taking place in the DMA zone Kortessem/Bilzen-Beverst which consists of 210 km pipes and contains 6 flow meters and 9600 connections. The pilot project started in July 2018 and first results will be available in September 2018. Hydroscan will implement LeakRedux® for the specific DMA, analyse the leaks during the test period and predict the potential savings.
